Health Care

Hospitals

Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, and Pender Community Hospital serve the residents of Burt County. MCH is located in Blair, 17 miles south of Tekamah. Franciscan Healthcare is located in West Point, 14 miles east of Oakland. Pender Community Hospital is 22 miles northwest of Lyons.

Nursing Homes

Oakland Heights, built in Oakland in 1975, has a capacity for 45 beds. It also has a 22-bed assisted living unit. The Medicare-certified facility provides occupational and physical therapy, speech and language pathology, social work and activities.

Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center was built in Tekamah in 1964 with a capacity for 44 beds. It is licensed as a skilled Medicare facility with 12 Medicare beds. Speech, occupational and physical therapy are offered.
